NICK Drake, one of the most revered figures in contemporary acoustic music, is to be remembered during a night at the Harbour Lights Picturehouse, in Southampton.
The late musician, who committed suicide at the age of 26, composed and recorded a peerless catalogue of material that, while under-appreciated at the time, has since earned him acknowledgement as one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century.
In Keith James presents The Songs of Nick Drake, singer-songwriter Keith James, accompanied by double bassist Rick Foot, crafts an evening based on both his better known material as well as some lesser-known songs that never made it past the demo stage.
The Southampton leg of the show will be at the Harbour Lights Picturehouse on Sunday and will be accompanied by a screening of Fruit Tree, a new documentary narrated by official Nick Drake biographer Patrick Humphries.
