COMMERCIAL real estate agents CB Richard Ellis has sold the last unit of Eastleigh's Tower Industrial Estate for finance giant Canada Life.

In total the estate, which was originally constructed in the 1970s and consisted of one large detached unit with a one-acre yard and two terraces of smaller industrial units totalling over 100,000 sq ft, netted around £7m.

CBRE's Agency Division was originally instructed to provide Canada Life with disposal advice on only vacated units.

As a result of this, CBRE's relationship with Canada Life expanded when the building surveying and management departments were also called on to give specialist advice.

CBRE's Nick Tutton said: "This is an excellent example of how our multi-discipline expertise can really assist clients in extracting the best from their assets.

"Tower Industrial Estate had been an under performing asset for Canada Life, but in following our advice, they instructed us to sell and along with joint letting agent Young & Butt, we were able to dispose of all the units on the site over a relatively short period of time, while maximising the return received by the client."
