A POST mortem examination has revealed that a man found dead in a Southampton flat died of serious head injuries.
The body of the 62-year-old was found at a flat in Cranbury Avenue near the city centre on Wednesday afternoon.
A post mortem examination conducted at Royal County Hospital in Winchester found he had died of serious injuries to the head.
A 47-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man were arrested in connection with the murder.
The man has been released on police bail, and the woman remains in custody.
Meanwhile, police investigations continued yesterday as detectives tried to piece together information surrounding the incident.
Police cordons remained in place on the short, tree-lined road while forensic teams scoured the three-storey building.
Officers are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a man in his early 60s with head injuries in the Cranbury Avenue area between 12pm and 2pm on Wednesday.
