BRETT Misselbrook of Sholing will represent Southampton in the final of a nationwide talent contest.
Brett scooped the top prize in Jax Factor 2006 at Jumpin Jaks after fending off competition from 75 other hopefuls who have been performing at LeisureWorld for the past six weeks.
Brett said: "I was over the moon to win. I have been singing for a long time and it's so great to be recognised for doing something that you love.
"It's also great to show people what I could do on stage. It was a fantastic night with lots of talent."
The national search for singing stars started in October.
Jax Factor is looking for the most talented, up-and-coming solo and duet vocalists in the UK.
It is holding heats in 16 venues across England, Scotland and Wales and offers £20,000 of prizes including a 23in plasma HD ready TV for the regional winner as well as the launch of a prosperous new career.
ITV1's X Factor finalist Chico will be on the panel of judges and perform live at the final in Stevenage on December 14.
