MEMBERS of the Totton Army cadet force helped Poppy Appeal collectors at a New Forest supermarket raise a whopping £6,000.
The cadets gave up three weekends to pack shoppers bags at the Morrisons store in Calmore which attracted a flood of donations.
They raised £3,666 while a Royal British Legion (RBL) stall in the store brought the total to £6,040.
Morrisons manager James Morse presented a cheque to local Poppy Appeal organiser Roy Kenworthy from the RBL Copythorne branch.
Mr Kenworthy said: "It was far more than expected.
"We are only a small branch and during the two-week Poppytide raised more than the whole of last year."
The branch raised £10,400 across the New Forest.
