MUSIC, spoken word and art from a host of the best artists from Hampshire and beyond open Southampton’s festival season in style tomorrow.
Ejector Seat Arts Festival returns to the city’s Palmerston Park after a one-year break, bringing a range of great local talent to the stage.
Headlining the Bandstand Stage is East India Youth aka William Doyle, a London based electro pop enthusiast.
Local lads Brother Goose are the opening act with their indie pop sounds and dub reggae band The Crooked Beat and young indie folk teen, Cloudi Lewis, pictured, will also be making an appearance.
Spectral Park, aka Southampton’s Luke Donovan, bring us Lo-Fi Pop, while Wounded Crow, the final addition to the line-up, is a new heavy blues band fronted by Ben Munday, previously of the Mopes and the Doghouse Boatboys.
Nationally-recognised Dizraeli and Luke Wright will be headlining the spoken word tent, while on the Melting Pot Acoustic stage Atlantico, JigFoot, BOTY0V1791 and many more are there.
Throughout the day there will be plenty of DJ sets, as well as free workshops, street performers, an arts market and live art.
The mainly volunteer based event is free to all and hosts a platform for up and coming local artists as well as a host of familiar names.
Local food will be available throughout the free event, which runs from midday until 10pm.
