THE finishing touches are being made ahead of a colourful carnival and regatta in a Hampshire community this weekend.
Hundreds are expected to line the streets for the Netley Regatta and Victoria Carnival tomorrow.
The event is being held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Royal Victoria Military Hospital and the growth of Netley as a village.
The carnival procession, led by a ‘Queen Victoria’, will leave The Crescent at 11.15am, and will go via Queens View, Wykeham Road, Monks Road, New Road and Garfield Road to the Cricket Field on Victoria Road alongside the Abbey Hall.
There will be bouncy castles, Punch and Judy and children’s races on the green. The Scouts Regatta starts at 11am and prizegiving will take place around 5pm.
