AN investigation is under way after an 86-year-old woman was targeted by thieves at a Hampshire supermarket.
The pensioner was returning her trolley outside Waitrose in Chandler’s Ford when a man approached and asked questions about a dog.
While she was distracted, an accomplice entered the woman’s car and took her bank card and personal identification number.
Fifteen minutes later, £300 was withdrawn from a nearby cashpoint machine.
The victim only found out the theft had taken place after her bank called her about the large transaction.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, on June 3 at 6pm, should call PC Gore on 101.
