A HAMPSHIRE couple are opening the grounds of their home for a party in their son's memory.
Tina and Gary Dine are holding a one-day music festival on July 6 called Bradfest, to raise money for Bradleysfoundation, which supports children’s cancer charities.
In June 2000, Bradley was tragically killed in a road accident near his home in Otterbourne, just four days after his ninth birthday.
Tina said: “Bradley’s dream was always to buy a field to play in. He never got to achieve that, so we have decided to put on a party in a field in his memory.
“I cannot think of a more worthwhile cause to support in memory of Bradley than helping local young people with cancer. I hope the event will be well supported as it promises to be a fantastic night.”
Headlining the event is Southampton singing sensation Charley Macaulay, who has just signed a three-album contract with Acid Jazz records.
Joining Charley is at the concert is the lead singer of Rufus Stone, Malc Eyers, and tribute band Strolling Stones, Elle Jay and Marley Blandford.
One of the many familiar faces that will be there on the day is ex-Saints captain Jason Dodd, he said: “It is a great cause. It was a terrible accident and you can understand why they are doing it.
"There are lovely surroundings here for the event and on the day I’ll be behind the bar serving champagne – a first for me.”
As well as the music there will be a funfair, barbecue, bar, refreshments and an option for people to camp out.
Tickets for the July 6 event are limited to just 400 at £25 each in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust appeal for a new unit at Southampton General Hospital.
