THEY say there are few things in life that can’t be fixed with a good cup of tea.
And it seems the Mayor of Winchester agrees.
Councillor Ernie Jeffs and his wife, Barbara, were at Winchester Cathedral’s refectory to throw their weight behind a campaign that will see people across Hampshire staging their own tea parties for a good cause.
Marie Curie nurse Debbie Mallaney and the charity’s community fundraising team are encouraging people to support their Blooming Great Tea Party project by holding their own get-togethers in June and July, raising funds for the charity.
Community fundraising manager Wendy Savage said: “We’re asking everyone to host their own Blooming Great Tea Party for Marie Curie Cancer Care this summer.
“The money raised by popping the kettle on will help more Marie Curie nurses to provide free care to patients with cancer and other illnesses in their own homes across Hampshire.”
