AN annual cycle ride is taking place on Saturday, July 27, in Hampshire to support a charity set up in memory of a young girl.
Organisers of the Denmead Cycle Ride want to raise cash for Hannah’s Holiday Home in Oakdean, which is used by families of children with terminal illness to give them a well-deserved break.
Hannah Westbrook was eight when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease and treated at Southampton General Hospital’s Piam Brown children’s cancer ward. Her family set up the appeal after she died, aged ten, in 2004.
There are three routes available on the cycle ride – ten, 20 and 30 miles – on normal roads which are open from 10am from the village’s Harvest Home pub. Registration and sponsorship forms at denmeadcycleride.org.uk.
