SINGER and rapper Example has hit back at students who criticised his no show at their graduation ball with a Twitter tirade.
The Won’t Go Quietly artist was due to perform alongside DJ Fresh, Pendulum, Amelia Lily and the city’s own Scott Mills at Oceana last night.
Thousands of students had snapped up tickets for the Southampton University Students Union event, expecting to see the star in action, but he had to cancel late in the day after losing his voice.
After being contacted by several disappointed revellers through his Twitter account, Example, real name Elliot Gleave, responded angrily.
He said: “To all the students moaning - think about all the times you've not gone in to work because you're too lazy and hungover.”
Example also suggested students use refunds to buy Pot Noodles and drugs and sent several personal responses to Tweeters, most of them too insulting to print.
