UP to 25 firefighters dealt with an industrial blaze at a petrochemical plant on the Waterside yesterday.
The blaze broke out at Polymeri Europa UK Ltd in Cadland Road on the Charleston Industrial Estate. Fire incident commander Phil White said the fire was in an industrial oven used for drying rubber.
"The blaze was confined to the plant and we ensured none of the water used got into the surrounding water system," he said.
No one was injured. An investigation has been launched.
