ELECTRICITY has been restored to more than 1,700 homes this morning after a power cut in two Hampshire communities.
A fault in the high voltage network is believed to have been behind the blackout in Eastleigh and Chandler's Ford, which started at 4.40am today.
A total of 1,719 homes in the area were affected by the power cut with all but 161 customers seeing electricity restored by 7.20am.
The remainder were reconnected before 9am.
A Southern Electric spokesman apologised to those affected and thanked them for their patience.
