ATTEMPTS to jail a Winchester woman for non-payment of council tax have been adjourned for two months.
The city council is seeking to have Heather Turvey imprisoned after she failed to pay the tax and legal costs of £7,560.03 for the period June 14, 2005 to June 15, 2010.
Turvey, of Limetree Walk, Winnall, pleaded not guilty on April 25 and the case came back to Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.
The case was adjourned to August 15 at the request of the prosecution to see if Turvey can maintain her commitment to paying off the debt.
