PLANS to move an Isle of Wight Safer Neighbourhoods Team from its current location in the town are set to be discussed at a public meeting next Wednesday.
The meeting, which is due to take place at Yarmouth Church of England Primary School, aims to make the town’s residents aware of what is happening and why.
The relocation is part of Hampshire Constabulary’s estate development programme, which is to fit facilities around policing needs and levels of funding.
Chief Inspector Rob Heath, acting director of Hampshire Constabulary’s Estate Development Programme, said: “We are policing in a time in which mobile technology allows officers and staff to work out of various locations, alongside our partners.”
The meeting takes place between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
