POLICE are stepping up patrols at a funfair after about 20 teenagers were involved in a mass brawl.
Officers say the violence that broke out at The Bickerley in Ringwood involved youths aged between 15 and 19, some of whom suffered broken bones in the fight.
Trouble flared last Saturday and police are determined to prevent any repetition of the incident.
Sergeant Mark Roberts, of the Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: “These events are enjoyed by the local community and rarely become problematic.
“However, to reassure those attending the funfair and to help prevent any further problems there will be an enhanced police presence this weekend.”
Sergeant Roberts warned anyone thinking of causing trouble at the event to stay away and added: “Our enquiries will identify all of those involved in last weekend’s disorder and we will deal with them accordingly.”
