POLICE recovered 15 wraps of heroin and 20 wraps of crack cocaine when a student was searched, Winchester Crown Court heard.
Olnwatobi Adeyemi was arrested after police had been tipped off about an incident in a pub in Bugle Street, Southampton, and found him lying on a park bench, Prosecutor Dawn Hyland said: “He was street dealing for financial gain.”
In mitigation, James Newton Price told Judge Keith Cutler the teenager had been dependent on student loans and had been under financial pressure when someone suggested to him he could make money by dealing drugs.
He said he had since been employed on agency work and was not the stereotypical drug dealer.
Adeyemi, 19, from Colchester, admitted possession with intent to supply and had a two-year jail term suspended for two years with an order to carry out 200 hours’ unpaid work.
