CARE homes across Hampshire are opening their doors so people can get a taste for life as a resident.
Among them are four Bupa homes in Southampton who are inviting people in as part of National Care Home Open Day on June 21.
There will be arts and crafts, gardening and entertainment from Gary Matthews from 10.30am at Knights Grove nursing and residential home in North Baddesley.
From 10am at Oak Lodge nursing home on Freemantle Common Road, Southampton, guests can join in with thumb printing, bingo and knitting, enjoy hand massages and learn more about tracing family history online.
Maypole nursing centre in Hedge End will be holding a picnic, painting a giant mural and playing games including skittles, beetle games and dominoes, while being entertained by line dancers from 1.30pm.
There will be a garden party at Northlands House nursing and residential home in Westrow Road, Southampton, along with entertainment by musicians, outdoor games and tea and cake.
Staff will also be on hand to answer any questions and provide information about life as a carer.
