A 52-year-old man was accused of stealing almost £55,000 from his father when he appeared at Winchester Crown Court.
Mark Bajor faced two allegations of theft. One related to the sum of £52,514 and the other was said to be £2,060.
The prosecution alleged he stole the cash from his father, Frank, when he was in the care of social services.
Bajor, of Dominic Drive, Birmingham, denied both charges and had bail extended to his trial in September.
