Emergency services plan 'explosion' at shopping parade as part of training exercise
A Southampton shopping parade will tomorrow be the scene of the aftermath of an explosion as part of a training exercise for emergency services.
It will take place at Exford Avenue Shopping Parade in Harefield between 10am and 3pm.
Crews from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Hampshire Ambulance Rescue Team will tackle the scenario of the aftermath of an explosion taking place on the third floor of a five-storey building.
But there will be no actual blast despite information released wrongly by Southampton City Council.
The crews on site will have to deal with debris blown off the building and extract casualties from the scene.
