A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a crash in which a Hampshire teenager was killed.
Sixteen-year-old Payton Sparks, form Botley Drive, Havant, died at the scene of the crash.
It happened on the B2149 at Petersfield Road, Havant, at 10.42pm on May 25.
A 14-year-old boy from Havant, the back seat passenger, sustained serious injuries but is now recovering.
Lewis Young, 19, of no fixed abode (formerly of Havant) was charged this morning with the following offences:
- Causing death by dangerous driving
- Causing serious injury to another by driving dangerously on a road
- Aggravated vehicle taking
- Driving without insurance Driving while disqualified
- Making off without payment (otherwise known as bilking).
He was remanded in custody by Portsmouth Magistrates Court and committed to the crown court at Portsmouth for a hearing on July 15, 2013.
