The ''naked rambler'' will stand trial today accused of breaching an anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) banning him from being naked in public.
Stephen Gough, 53, of Chamberlayne Road, Eastleigh, who denies the charge, is alleged to have breached the order in February minutes after it was imposed by magistrates in Southampton saying that he must ''wear sufficient clothing in public to at least cover his genitalia and buttocks'' apart from at nudist beaches and at appropriate medical examinations.
Eastleigh Borough Council and Hampshire police had jointly applied for the Asbo.
Gough gained fame in 2003 and 2005 when he walked naked from Land's End to John O'Groats and was the subject of a TV documentary.
The case is expected to be heard at Portsmouth Crown Court.
