THOSE who gave their lives will not be forgotten in Winchester.
Proud military men past and present were joined by members of the public and the cathedral’s clergy as they gathered to remember the fallen.
The Turning of the Pages ceremony takes place on the third Tuesday of every month.
The Rolls of Honour of the King’s Royal Rifle Corps and the Rifle Brigade have their pages turned during a ritual dating back to a time when the city played host to the two regiments at Peninsula Barracks.
Winchester’s association with these units is steeped in history and the cathedral’s Rifle Brigade window has entries for fallen servicemen dating back to 1809.
The names of those killed in the service of their country are called out.
