A SOUTHAMPTON school will now be able to grow its own fruit and vegetables thanks to a new eco greenhouse.
Staff and students at Upper Shirley High School collected more than 2,000 plastic bottles for the collaborative project between the school and the Solent Education Business Partnership project (EBP) Learn and Grow.
Miky Pomery, Jake Sayers, Ben Flannigan, Chloe Tillyer, Sophie West, Marta O’Bara, Malket Singh and Ashton Rauccio, who are all in Year 11 at the school, spent a week using the plastic bottles to build the greenhouse.
The project’s aim was to create a market garden for the school and local community to help educate people about growing food and healthy eating.
