IF YOU fancy being the next big music sensation this could be a chance to make your mark.

Open Mic UK are holding auditions in Fareham later this year. More than 9,000 hopefuls entered last year’s competition to find the UK’s best singers, singer-songwriters, rappers and vocalists.

Auditions start in August and come to Ferneham Hall on September 1, looking for talented artists in the Southampton and Portsmouth areas.

Those who make it through auditions will go on to perform in live showcases in front of a professional judging panel and packed-out audiences in some of the UK’s most prestigious live music venues, like Portsmouth Guildhall.

Those talented enough to reach the Grand Final will perform at The O2 in London, with the winner getting £5,000.

Previous winners have included Birdy and Hatty Keane, and the likes of X Factor contestants Lucy Spraggan and Jahmene Douglas have been finalists.
