A WINCHESTER hospice has nominated a Hampshire businesswoman for a prestigious award.
Naomi House children’s hospice has nominated Dawn Smith for the annual Chairman’s Award after she organised fundraisers at Southampton-based heating company Dimplex, where she works.
Dawn has been raising money for the Sutton Scotney hospice for more than five years and runs a recycling scheme at the company’s head office where staff donate unwanted goods which are traded for cash.
She said: “I’m delighted and humbled to be nominated because our fundraising is such an easy thing to do and helps a local cause that touches many of our lives.”
It will be judged later this year and presented by outgoing Naomi House chairman Khalid Aziz, who steps down in September.
