IT’S the UK’s best small venue – and on Monday it plays host to two of the country’s best musical acts.

The Joiners scooped the accolade last month after 76,000 votes were cast in their favour by NME readers.

To celebrate, Frank Turner will headline a special one-off show at the intimate venue on Monday, attended only by lucky competition winners.

The Hampshire folk/punk singer songwriter is a huge supporter of The Joiners and was one of a host of big name musicians who cast their vote in favour of the tiny venue, in St Mary Street.

Frank even played a benefit gig there on his birthday in December when he heard The Joiners was in financial trouble.

This time around, fans can expect more of his superb acoustic offerings, material from his recently released fifth studio album Tape Deck Heart and maybe even the odd cover.

Last week, Frank took a 48-hour break from his US tour to make a brief return to the UK for radio.

His awesome BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session for Sara Cox included his song The Way I Tend To Be as well as a cover of All My Life by The Foo Fighters.

He will be supported by regular collaborator Sean McGowan who is fast becoming one of the hottest properties in music and has been compared to Paul Weller, Billy Bragg and Joe Strummer.

Set to play four Glastonbury sets of his original protest songs next weekend, and having supported Shed Seven, he has still not reached the tender age of 21!
