HOLLYWOOD will be hitting Totton this weekend when the popular carnival returns to the town.

The theme for this year’s carnival is Totton and the Movies providing plenty of scope for creative costumes and floats.

The parade, tomorrow, will start from Calmore Industrial Estate at 4pm and will follow a route down Salisbury Road to Commercial Road and then on to Ringwood Road, turning around ASDA down Maynard Road, joining Junction Road, over the train level crossing to Batts Corner, along Eling Lane, then right down Rose Road arriving at the show ground at Eling recreation ground at 6.15pm.

Once the procession reaches Eling recreation ground the carnival show will be in full swing and local Olympian, Aaron Phipps, who grew up in the area and represented Great Britain in Wheelchair Rugby at last summer’s London 2012 Paralympic Games, will officially open the carnival.

Eling Rec will host guest appearances from children’s favourites Peppa Pig and George Pig at 2pm, Mickey Mouse at 3pm, Toy Story’s Woody at 4pm and Spongebob Squarepants at 5.45pm, where he will be waving in the procession to the site before the evening’s entertainment gets under way.

Live music will be provided by the amazingly talented local Romsey lad Joe Mongan who writes his own music and plays guitar.
