JAMIE Dack's stepfather today told how justice had finally been done for his stepson.
In an emotional statement, Eddie Dack said: what our family wanted is justice for Jamie and today finally justice has been done. Jamie was cruelly tortured and killed by people he thought were his friends.
"I'm sure you can imagine the last year has been terrible for our whole family and friends. we have sat through two long trials now, hearing the gruesome details of what happened to Jamie. Only one of those accused ever admitted their part in murdering Jamie but now they have deservedly all been found guilty.
"We would like to thanks the jury for coming to today's conclusion and hope the sentences will reflect the inhuman treatment meted out to Jamie. We would also like to thank this and the first jury who had to listen to and see things that no one ever should.
"Jamie was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend who cared for everyone. We loved him dearly. He was a gentle soul who sold never hurt anybody. While the heartless router and murder of Jamie has shaken everyone who knew him to the core, our faith in humanity has at least been partially restored by the support of our friends and the kind words about Jamie by his friends and peers.
"We would like to thank everyone who has helped us through he last year including Detective sergeant Bryan Carter and his team, especially our family liaison officers Jo and Nikki who have supported us and been by our side since day one and also Victim Support. We truly appreciate all the hard work that they have put in since Jamie was murdered."
