THEY have taken part in some of the most spectacular films ever made, including Braveheart, War Horse and Les Miserables.
Now the Devil’s Horsemen are bringing their riding skills to the New Forest and Hampshire County Show, which is just six weeks away.
The internationally-renowned stunt team are due to stage six performances atthe three-day extravaganza.
Their action-packed routines will include a Roman chariot race – described by the riders themselves as “probably the fastest, most thrilling display of horsemanship you will ever see”.
A Devil’s Horsemen spokesman said: “Our chariot races are as real as those held atthe Coliseum 2,000 years ago and just as dangerous.
“It’s not uncommon for our chariots to lose wheels and evencharioteers as they cut each other up the bends.”
The Buckinghamshire-based riders, who appearedatthe 2010 show, willbe performing some of the routines originally devised by the Cossacks The Daily Echo-backed show is one of the top ten agricultural events in the UK and attracts about 100,000 spectators every year.
The theme of this year’s eventisGet Involved, which will enable people to have a close encounter with many of the animals and activities found in the Forest.
The show takes place at New Park, Brockenhurst, from July 30-August 1.
