A HAMPSHIRE woman died from an undiagnosed aggressive form of cancer, an inquest heard.
Beryl Evers, from Romsey, had been admitted to hospital last December suffering from dehydration after experiencing trouble swallowing.
But seven days later the 64-year-old’s condition deteriorated and she suffered a cardiac arrest, from which she never recovered.
Southampton Coroner’s Court heard that a postmortem revealed evidence of cancerous tumours.
Mrs Evers, of Westering, had previously beaten cancer in her jaw but pathologist Adrian Bateman discovered that the cancer which proved fatal had originated from her pancreas.
He added that even if doctors had made the diagnosis, the cancer was by that stage too widespread for any treatment to work.
Verdict: Death by natural causes.
