A PENSIONER was found dead in her home after taking her own life.
Betty King, 81, had a history of depression and anxiety in the lead up to her death, Southampton Coroners Court.
The court heard how shortly before her death she told her GP about having thoughts about killing herself and her medication was increased.
But days later she was found hanging in her home in Fairview Close, in Hythe. A post-mortem examination found no evidence of alcohol or medication above a harmful level.
Southampton deputy coroner Gordon Denson recorded a verdict that she took her own life. He said: āIām satisfied that Mrs King must have been aware of the consequences of her actions.ā
