A DEFENDANT facing a burglary charge will next appear in court hours after he is due to leave prison for a similar offence.
Oswald Powell, 22, sat in the dock at Winchester Crown Court where a judge heard his release date was July 11.
However he would have to await sentence until the following day because a probation report has been ordered on accomplice Adam McAlister.
Powell, of no fixed abode, had been committed for sentence by magistrates after admitting entering a house in Southampton with intent to steal.
It was not until yesterday that McAlister, also 22, of Cranbury Place, Southampton, admitted the same allegation.
Powell was further remanded in custody and McAlister had bail extended.
