NO charges will be brought against a woman who alleged she had been raped by a 15-year-old boy at a Hampshire beauty spot, police have confirmed.
Police launched a major investigation after the woman said she had been attacked by the teenager after meeting him near New Milton railway station and walking to nearby Ballard Lake.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested but charges against him were later dropped.
His mother said he was the victim of a “horrendous” lie and called for the woman to be prosecuted for having what she described as “full, consensual sex” with a 15-year-old.
A police spokesman confirmed that no charges would be brought in the case.
He added: “At the conclusion of the investigation we have determined there is no realistic chance of a successful prosecution for any offences.”
