GOLD medal winning Paralympics sailor Helena Lucas gave pupils at a Southampton primary school an insight into her life as an elite athlete.
The sailor met 12 Year 6 pupils from Vermont School at Southampton Sports Centre, where she was quizzed by the pupils about how she trains and prepares for big events.
Helena, who is based in Hampshire, became Britain’s first ever Paralympic sailing gold medallist when she won the 2.4mR dinghy class in the London 2012 Paralympics.
Maria Smyth, deputy head teacher of Vermont School, said: “It went extremely well. The children asked a lot of questions and they came back extremely enthusiastic having met her.”
