MANSEL Park Primary is lucky to have a large outdoor space which mean teachers can deliver hands-on learning, something they believe is key to engagement.
Staff have spent time developing different areas including a woodland trail, a pond where they have returning families of newts and frogs, and a badger sett.
An after school club takes care of the pond area and also a garden and vegetable plot in the Key Stage 1 playground.
The school can also boast winning a silver award two years in a row from Southampton in Bloom for their garden and vegetable patches.
