ELECTION fever has been gripping Mansel Park Primary School as 16 candidates in Year 5 have been canvassing and running campaigns in their hope of being voted their next House Captain.
The four hopefuls for each house made speeches in a special assembly, following volunteer sessions at break times and during afternoon lessons.
They helped children as young as Reception age in the playground, listened to readers and helped in the library in order to get their faces known before speech day.
The new House Captains, who were congratulated by the Mayor of Southampton during a visit, will use the remaining weeks of the term learning from the current Captains before they leave us to go on to Secondary School.
