500 homes and busiensses hit by power cut
MORE than 500 homes and businesses in Southampton city centre are without electricity this afternoon after a huge power cut.
The blackout struck at 2.10pm cutting off supplies to Southern Electric customers.
The cause of the disruption is unknown but engineers are trying to fix the problem and restore supplies within the next two hours.
A company spokeswoman said: “We apologise for the inconvenience and hope to restore power as soon as possible.”
