AGENTS Goadsby is celebrating three of Winchester lettings.

Acting on behalf of Velmore Estates it has let extensive retail premises at 51 Leigh Road for use as an Indian restaurant.

The property occupies a prominent position in the town centre facing the parks and has been taken on a 20 year lease at £50,000 per year by Mr R A Choudhury, who has carried out extensive refurbishment.

The restaurant, which opens today, will have more than 140 covers and specialise in fish dishes.

On behalf of landlords Salum Properties, Goadsby has also let the refurbished ground floor lock-up retail unit of 845 sq ft at 1C High Street to Hassan Yalvac who has also obtained planning permission for a change of use to a restaurant.

Mr Yalvac has taken a 15 year lease at a rental of £22,000 per annum.

The letting follows quickly on the heels of the disposal of 1D High Street, where, acting for the same landlord, Goadsby let a similar unit of 682 sq ft to Winchester Letting Company Limited who took a similar lease at £18,000 per year.

Myddelton & Major were joint agents with Goadsby on both transactions.
