DRAMA educationalists from around the world will soon be enjoying a performance of Oasis Youth Theatre’s Jack.
The young talented company from Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill has won three years in a row at the All England Theatre Festival Final.
Now they travel to France for the IDEA Paris 2013 Congress with a new re-imaging of the old Jack and the Beanstalk story inspired by Benjamin Tabart’s 1807 version.
This devised piece with virtually no dialogue is a darker take on the pantomime, the older fairy tale with no happy ending.
With the use of puppets, stylised movement, a specially devised music score, mime and acting, the cast will attempt to tell the story that an audience can clearly follow.
To raise funds, and help the cast prepare, a final performance will be presented at the Oasis Theatre on Tuesday.
Tickets are on sale from 023 8073 9797.
