A COMMUNITY cafe is being relaunched on Tuesday.
The Community Cafe, at the Velmore Centre, in Chandler’s Ford has previously been run by volunteers, but now a contract to run the facility has now been awarded to charity Groundwork. The new Cherry Tree Cafe will now serve food such as sandwiches as well as soft drinks.
People are invited to come and join in a special Second World War tea party between 2pm and 4pm, where they will have a chance to try some cakes and take part in T-shirt decorating and children’s games.
The Velmore Centre, in Falkland Road, acts as both a community centre and church and is run by a manager and volunteers.
