HUNDREDS of people enjoyed a village fete in glorious sunshine.
After a washout of Sparsholt fete last year, residents could not have wished for better weather on Saturday.
It was the first time the fete was held in the centre of the village, with its previous home being Sparsholt Manor.
But organisers decided to make it more central so the school and church could get more involved.
St Stephen’s Church hosted some bizarre and brilliant fruit and vegetable sculptures while residents also tried their hands at bell-ringing.
It also featured live music for the first time, with a jazz band performing, while former Hampshire cricketer turned falconer Billy Taylor put on a bird display.
The fete raised money for the church and was opened by Meridian TV newsreader Amanda Piper.
