A Hampshire man died after suffering a severe bout of diarrhoea, an inquest heard.
Jonathan Pickering, who had mental health problems, had been told by his doctor over the phone that he had the symptoms of gastroenteritis.
But two days later his family raised the alarm after being unable to contact him and he was found dead on the kitchen floor at his home in Efford Way, Pennington.
The inquest in Southampton heard that Mr Pickering, 42, had suffered an acute infection.
Deputy coroner Gordon Denson recorded a verdict of natural causes.
