SOUTHAMPTON’s historic Wool House has reopened as an arts venue.
The Town Quay venue, which was used as the Maritime Museum until two years ago, will now act as an open community space Element Arts.
Visitors can see a variety of art exhibitions by professional artists from across Hampshire, take part in art and dance workshops, see live music, theatre and film loosely based around the stories and heritage of the 14th century building.
The project to breathe new life into the building, supported by Southampton City Council, is a celebration of the building and its vital role in the establishment of Southampton as an international port.
The first exhibition, by local artists Unearthed, runs until July 28.
The Wool House is open Fridays to Mondays between 10.30am and 4pm.
