WHEN Tina Bailey and her identical twin sister Kerry Chase decided to join a weight loss group she had no idea that it would lead to her finding love.

Tina, now 41, from Warsash, had been single for 14 years, but says the confidence she gained from losing five stone has been key in her finding romance with her new partner, Tim.

Between them, the sisters have lost nine stone, and have transformed from self-confessed couch potatoes to keen sportswomen, playing netballtwice aweek as well as going to the gym and running.

The sisters decided to join their local SlimmingWorld group as their 40th birthdays approached and they wanted to be able to wear something specialfor the occasion.

Kerry also had the prospect of her stepson’s wedding to motivate her.

Tina went from being a dress size 20-22 to today being a trim 10-12, while Kerry went from being size 22-24 to a slim 12-14.

The pair still go to weekly group meetings in Warsash to help keep them motivated and make sure the weight stays off.

“Nowit’s just a way of life, it’s not a diet,” says Kerry, a school catering assistant.

“I feel so confident and it’s nice to dress up and go out. I was a real couch potato before. Now I play netball twice a week and go to the gym – it’s changed my life.”

Tina says that before she lost weight she lacked confidence, which was standing in the way of her finding love.

“I would chat to people online and then when they suggested meeting up, I would make up excuses,” says the school catering assistant.

A surprising result of the twins’weightloss is that they now look more similar - they laugh that sometimes even their own children get them mixed up!
