MOURNERS were today gathering for the funeral of equal rights campaigner Chrisie Edkins, who died last month.
Family and friends of Chrisie are hoping that today’s service will be a celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights following her sudden death.
Mourners due to gather at Southampton Crematorium this afternoon have been asked to wear rainbow colours – representing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community – in memory of the 33-year-old transgender woman.
Chrisie was found dead at her West End home in the early hours of June 10. Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
