TWO families of travellers who set up camp on their own land in Fordingbridge have applied for planning permission to use the site permanently.
New Forest District Council will now decide whether to allow two mobile homes, a new entry road and gates, amenity block, stable block and hard standing with parking at Marl Lane near Whitsbury, which is currently farmland.
Felix and Miles Connors, who own the land, have been living at the site with their families since May and say they want their children to attend local schools.
The plan has attracted several letters of opposition from residents.
