SOUTHAMPTON singer Charley Macaulay is preparing for the most unusual gig of her life – in a back garden.

The rising starlet was thrilled to be asked to top the bill at Bradfest in the grounds of Woodlands Park at Otterbourne.

The venue is actually the home of Tina Dine who set up the Bradley Foundation to raise money for cancer charities.

The charity was established in memory of Tina’s son Bradley, who was killed in a road accident in June 2000, just four days after his ninth birthday.

The Bradley Foundation has already raised more than £60,000 from a gala ball and climbing Kilimanjaro – and now she is putting on a special one-day music festival tomorrow. It will be headlined by the 19-year-old who has just signed a major recording contract after receiving rave reviews for appearances at Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight Festival.

Charley said: “I was delighted when I was asked to sing at Bradfest because it is such a good cause but I had no idea it was being held in a garden. I say garden but it is actually a big and beautiful setting. It will be something a bit different but I am really looking forward to the gig.”

Charley, who has a massive local following after beating 10,000 rivals to win the Under 18’s section of Live and Unsigned, will be supported by Murray Hockridge, who was one of the last 40 contestants on The Voice last year.

Other acts for the inaugural event are Rufus Stone’s lead singer, Malc Eyers, along with top tribute act the Strolling Stones, Elle Jay and Marley Blandford. In addition to top-class music, there will be a funfair, a BBQ, bar and refreshments and the option to camp.
