GRAND French music will resonate through the Cathedral tonight as the opening concert of the cultural event gets under way.
The ancient city with will be swept away in a sea of arts, as the works of great composers, writers and actors are performed to the public over a ten day period.
The style of concerts span all eras of music; from the work of Monteverdi and Bach to Albeniz and Sculthorpe.
You even have the option to dance where Jane Austen danced, sing with John Rutter and do the Time Warp with the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Alongside the concerts there is a wide range of speakers and events. Michael Portillo reflects on his life in the public eye, while legendary composer John Williams recites his most well-known tunes on the guitar.
